Blue Skies Quilting is making 28 quilts for the families who lost a loved one in the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut. . . 20 children, 6 adults, the father and the brother of the shooter who also lost his mom. Each quilt is personalized with fabrics depicting interests and the label on each quilt reads, "Celebrating the Life of __________." Because we do not have a long-arm quilting machine, the quilting has to be outsourced - approximately $100 per quilt.
